Description

The Sawtooth jacket represents the pinnacle of hunting apparel performance, engineered specifically for hunters where silence, concealment, and ease of layering are paramount.  This ultra-quiet jacket utilizes both our proven grid lite fleece outer and super soft sherpa fleece inner lining to eliminate noise during critical moments like drawing your bow or adjusting your position.  The all fleece construction is not only silent but protects you from the elements, with fleece being a proven windstopper, this ensures you stay comfortable and focused during long sits in diverse scenarios from mild to harsh weather conditions. The Sawtooth is offered in both our proven Summit and Solace camo patterns, seamlessly blending with diverse terrains and seasonal changes.  The Sawtooth jacket offers the first-of-its-kind layering performance by providing rib zips that make layering in cold conditions simple for mobile treestand hunters in both saddle and mobile hang-on systems, where layering while elevated has traditionally been a challenge.  Other features include reinforced areas for wear resistance and a fit optimized for layering without restricting movement, making it the ideal choice for serious hunters who refuse to compromise on stealth and comfort!

Great quality but baggy midsection

"First off I love the jacket, the material is high quality and super quiet. I have broad shoulders so I had to get a 3XL to fit my upper body but the midsection was very “boxy” and loose. I like a more tailored feel. I had a local tailor bring the sides in and it fits great. I will be adding the hardscrabble jacket, pants, and vest to my collection."

Sawtooth Jacket

"I haven’t used the Sawtooth yet, heading to NW Colorado for Elk soon so I’ll be trying it out during the archery season. So far, the hoodie appears to be fine and will work with the rest of my SKRE clothing."

Tim K. (5/5)

Great Quality, Too Heavy!

"Love SKRE gear. This piece will be great for stand sits for Whitetails, but it is a heavy weight if you are packing in for elk or mule deer. Pretty bulky, and is just too heavy if you are walking or packing in. It is of good quality, and I will wear it in the tree stand!"

Sawtooth

"I am 6’1 ~184lb, athletic build, I ordered an XL, factor a size up if your are roughly the same type of build. This jacket / pull over is an amazing piece. Yes it’s summer / a sale but eyeing for awhile. It’s well crafted, warm, built amazing! Great internal heavy fleecing, amazing stomach hand pocket area, great mid section long center mid zip, perfect hood with lining. Honestly better quality than my Patagonia pieces. Also the fleeced line “pouch” . . wow SKRE nailed this jacket. It’s a heavy build pull over, will be great in the winter."

Great jacket, great fit

"I’m 6’2”, 190lbs and the XL fits great. Plenty of room for layers underneath if needed or fine as is. Can’t wait to put it to the test in our MT winters. Great quality and good weight for warmth and wind without being too heavy. All of my Solace pattern stuff blends in great during Fall/Winter in the mountains, especially in rocky areas."

Even at -5 degrees, just

"Even at -5 degrees, just this jaket over my t-shirt, is warm enough to play, sit and just do watever you want. The freedom to mouve is just like you expect it to work. Stays in the truck for now on. . ."

Patric W. (5/5)

The Ultimate

"It’s perfect for the bow hunter. The fit is a little tight but that’s good for a bow hunter. It will be good for a crisp late October sit in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan."

ROBERT M. (5/5)

Awesome

"Just bought this jacket when they came back in stock and all I can say is WOW. I haven't had a chance to try it in the field yet but this thing is comfortable and I can tell it will be very warm as a stand alone or layered. I was seeking something lighter weight yet warm for when I'm moving around either still hunting/tracking or putting on drives. As per other jackets from SKRE, go up a size for proper fitment and to allow for layering"

Chris D. (5/5)

Great quality, fit could be better

"Very warm and well made. For the fit I find it is tight in the chest, shoulders and arms but kind of hangs like a pillowcase at the waist. I’m 6’5”, 230lbs and bought a 2XL. I considered sizing up to fit better up top but thought it would probably make the waist worse. Overall it’s quality made, warm and quiet but a more tapered athletic fit would make it perfect. It will be good for sitting but I think it will be a bit drafty at the waist for the hike."

Zach (4/5)

Great value

"Very warm, heavy jacket. Amazing warmth for the price, especially when compared to some other brands."

Q&A

Does the Sawtooth have a pass through for use of a safety harness?
As of right now it does not but we are hoping our next version of it does! It does of side zips as its main purpose is for saddle hunting. The side zips are built for the saddle.
Are the side zippers two way zippers? If I wanted to vent some heat but still have them connected it the bottom or open part way to feed my saddle bridge through is that possible or do they just open and close for putting the jacket on?
These are one-way zippers.
SO if the hardscrabble jacket is for mild to cold weather, would the sawtooth be for extreme cold?
That’s a great question! The Hardscrabble Jacket is designed as a durable outer shell, ideal for layering in mild to cold weather conditions. It offers excellent wind and water resistance, making it versatile when paired with insulation layers underneath. The Sawtooth Jacket, on the other hand, has built-in insulation, so it provides more warmth on its own and doesn’t require as much layering as the Hardscrabble. It also features an ultra-quiet outer fabric, perfect for tree stand or spot-and-stalk hunters who prioritize stealth. That said, the Sawtooth isn’t as water-resistant as the Hardscrabble, so it performs best in dry but very cold conditions—where warmth and silence matter most. If you’re facing wet or windy extreme cold, pairing the Sawtooth with the Hardscrabble shell gives you the ultimate system.
How well does this pack?
That is a great question. This is not intended to be a packable item, it is more of a one use warm Jacket.
What’s the main difference in this and the hardscrabble jacket?
Hardscrabble is our "go-to" jacket for mild to cold weather. its water-resistant and great for wind. The Sawtooth is for cold-weather, wind-resistance, and quiet. Ideally for a tree-stand. The side zippers make it great for saddle hunting as well.
