At the heart of the Hardscrabble system is our proprietary MTN-X2 soft-shell fabric. When we developed this material, we wanted to solve a problem many western hunters face: finding gear that is durable enough for mountain terrain without becoming stiff, noisy, or uncomfortable.

To further improve comfort and performance, we bond the exterior fabric to a microfleece liner inside the Hardscrabble Jacket. This combination creates a wind-resistant outer layer that retains warmth while maintaining the breathability needed for active hunts.

The Hardscrabble Jacket features dual ventilation pit zips that allow hunters to dump excess heat without removing layers. When temperatures rise or a climb gets steep, these vents help regulate body temperature while keeping your outer layer in place.

The Hardscrabble Pant utilizes zippered side vents for the same reason. Instead of overheating during long ascents, hunters can quickly increase airflow and maintain comfort throughout the day.
